Like all other Minecraft blocks, wooden logs are cubic covering an area of 1x1. To make the trees look more realistic, this texture pack applies some settings that affect the thickness of the trees. Starting your world, you will find thinner tree trunks as well as rounded blocks of foliage. Ultimately, this is what creates the effect of a real forest or trees planted separately.
