The plot goes like this: you are chopping wood when suddenly a strange flicker appears- a phenomenon known as the Zero Zone. If you get any closer, you will fall into the Backrooms. What happens next is not quite like in the movie - you walk through endless corridors and feel danger in your gut.

Exploring the Floors:

Level Zero - This is an endless maze with old wallpaper, lamps, and a rug, where the Bacteria lurks around corners. By searching through abandoned belongings of past survivors, you can find almond water and you cannot do without it. Within these walls your sanity meter drops and if you go mad, your heart will stop.

If you are lucky, you will fall through to Level 188. It is a hotel with windows, courtyards, and balconies. It is safe there,, your sanity returns to normal and, the rooms contain useful loot and a camera you can use to take memorable photos. But at some point the corridor will still throw you into the next stage.

Concrete traps and dead ends:

In the Backroom Add-on the passage leads to an area resembling an underground parking garage, full of crates of food and resources. But there are frequent power outages there, leaving players in completly darkness.

Further on, the path leads into ventilation shafts and second-level service tunnels filled with heat, the noise of machinery, and toxic fog. Without a chemical protection suit-which can be looted from deceaced explorers-you will not last long. And only somewhere deep within these pipes is a hidden crack leading back out.

FAQ:

How do I avoid going insane?

• Drink Almond Water, which can be found on the floor or in crates.
• On Level 188 (The Hotel), you do not lose sanity-use this level to rest.

Loot in the parking lot (Level 1):

• Break open all crates and boxes, they contain food and supplies. Search the bodies of dead stalkers.
• The lights go out completely from time to time on this level. Always keep a flashlight or torches handy.

Passage Through the Pipes (Level 2):

• The tunnels are filled with toxic gas. Do not go in there without a chemical protection suit, which you can loot from corpses on previous levels.
• Your sanity will plummet instantly here and there is no loot. Do not linger, look for a glimmer of light (the Zero Zone) to escape back to the normal world.
