As you can see, obsidian is superior to any vanilla tool in terms of durability. However, you will need to mine obsidian to craft these tools if you are playing survival and don't want to switch to creative.

• Obsidian Sword (7, 1200)
• Obsidian Hoe (3, max, haste)
• Obsidian Shovel (5, 1000, haste)
• Obsidian Axe (6, 1200, haste)
• Obsidian Katana (10, 1500)
• Obsidian Chestplate (7, 2000)
• Obsidian Leggings (3.5, 1580)
• Obsidian Boots (3.5 900)
• Obsidian Helmet (3.5, 850, fire resistance)
