Dynamic Light makes torches in mining and mines meaningless, using them as markers only if you don't want to get lost. This is because objects emitting light can now do this while in your hands. Pick up a torch, a glowing stone, or put on a golden helmet and light your path just like in real life.

Functionally, the Dynamic Light PE Mod makes torches and any other light-emitting objects more useful especially for dungeons, tunnels, mines. Just select a torch and hold it in your hand to illuminate the area around. This works with all luminous objects and blocks.
Wear a gold helmet as a miner's helmet. It works just like a torch, but you don't have to get it out every time you need a light.
For Minecraft Bedrock Edition you can also download the Dynamic Lights PE Addon that works in a similar way. However, it is available for many previous versions of Minecraft PE.
1. Download and install Horizon (launcher).
2. Open the app and install the InnerCore pack.
3. Download the mod and add it using the launcher.
