Most likely, the desert update will become part of Minecraft 1.15 planned for next year. Developers are closely involved in the nether adding new biomes within the dimension. In addition, work on bees and their mechanics is in full swing, similar to what is implemented in Java.
But while Mojang is developing the game, one of the players introduced his own concept of updating the desert. It includes a new mob, and several plants that could be seen in trailers as well as in other addons.
This is a new bird with currently unknown characteristics. In the addon, it is presented as a bird flying in the sky and not attacking the players. In MCPE 1.14, vultures will likely hunt small animals and attack critically ill players.
It's time to add this type of cactus to the desert. They are more harmonious and dangerous due to their size. Now a new cactus is an entity that needs to be spawned using spawn eggs.
