This applies to the previous Minecraft PE 1.9 where a set of missing blocks appeared but so far there are not some traditional blocks of different colors in the game. Therefore, you should install the Innumerous Blocks Addon which in its structure and appearance is fully consistent with Minecraft style.

These are over 70 new blocks which are added separately without replacing anything. All of them are colored versions of vanilla blocks with the exception of some. If you do not like the usual bookshelf made of wood, then get 19 new types of bookshelves.
So that survival does not lose its meaning, the addon adds new trader-villagers. They can sell you what you want or perform some actions and give you the finished item.
