Minecraft Bedrock 26.20.20 - What’s New?

The latest Minecraft Bedrock patch 26.20.20 is now available and although it seems minor there are some interesting changes inside. The developers have added visual features that were previously only available with mods. Below is a quick overview of the new features in v26.20.20.

Waiting for big announcements:

The main menu now features a notification about Minecraft Live. The event is scheduled for March 21. Apparently we can expect an official release date for a major update with baby mobs, which may come out as early as the end of this month. The broadcast will also reveal details about the next major content drop (Minecraft Bedrock 26.40?).

Visual effects and graphics:

The most noticeable change concerns the End dimension. Sky Flashing has been added which previously only worked with Vibrant Visuals enabled. To see it, do the following.

• Use the "Sophisticated" graphics settings.
• The "Hide flashes in the sky" option must be turned off.
• The flashes appear randomly in different parts of the sky.

Mechanics and parity with Java:

Combat is now a little closer to Java. Recoil works correctly regardless of the item in your hands, as previously players could fly too far away. A bug with the controls was also fixed and now when using the full keyboard layout the camera in the crafting menu no longer rotates on its own.

Other changes:

• The time counter in the profile has been fixed and instead of the value -1 the actual game time is now displayed.
• Bone meal now works on grass blocks to create tall grass.
• Mobs now bounce off slime and beds only when touched rather then in advance in the air.
• Pigs now have sound effects when eating feed.
• Baby mobs lose their green growth particles when fed a golden dandelion.
• Flashes in the End now work on the standard engine without third-party add ons.
