The horses can stay in their paddock, it is better to build a Minelorean, fill it with organic fuel and go on a journey. No range restrictions, fly as much as you want as long as you have fuel. At the wheel of a Minelorean you can explore half the planet.
In MinecraftPE you will need the following components shown in the screenshot. Then, having the car assembled, get behind the wheel and fill it up:
