Minecraft Bedrock Edition 26.40 - Dappled Forest, Cushions & Abandoned Camps

Taking the best of all previous beta versions up to 26.40 this release is a great addition for travelers. What exactly has been added to Bedrock Edition? Below are the main features; for the full changelog, see the main post here.

Quick list of features:

• Multicolored poplar trees in three shades with custom leaf fall and unique sounds
• Wood mushrooms used for cooking stews and featuring a springy surface
• Red bushes
• Abandoned camps with unique loot specific to each biome.
• Wool slabs and stairs in all colors
• Interactive poufs you can sit on and arrange into sofas
• A straw bed for spending the night without resetting your spawn point
• New variants of doors, hatches, and patterned signs

Colorful Forest Biomes:

In 26.40, a unique natural biome called the Speckled Forest was added. Its defining feature is poplar trees with red, yellow, or orange leaves. Any sapling grows into a random color variant. Additionally bushes with red berries grow around you, and wood mushrooms appear on the trunks. Poplars provide attractive wood, and their leaves can be used to create fall foliage.

Abandoned Camps:

Traces of former explorers, these camps are scattered across nearly every biome, including the Pale Garden and the Flower Forest. Each camp adapts to its surroundings so in some places you'll only find a couple of barrels with loot and a few ruins, while in others there are garden beds with a small vegetable patch beside an extinguished campfire.

New Furniture and Soft Blocks:

In Minecraft Bedrock 26.40, wool stairs and slabs in every color are now available for crafting. But the main new feature is poufs (seating cushions). They're crafted from wool slabs, and you can sit on a pouf and spin around. You can place them on almost any object such as beds, torches, and more to create furniture.

Forgotten Overnights:

If you're heading out on a long journey and dont want to reset your spawn point in Minecraft 26.40, a straw bed is exactly what you need. It's crafted from three hay bales and gives you four single-use sleeping bags. Sleep for one night skip the night and the bed breaks, but your spawn point stays at your main base.
