Forget about the usual indices, as Mojang has switched to a calendar-based system. Version 26.0 opens 2026, bringing Bedrock and Java numbering to a common denominator. You can also check out all the changes from previous betas and previews here - Minecraft PE 26.10.21. This release combines all these changes into one version - 26.0.
Mob evolution and new sounds:
The Mojang team has revamped the appearance of mobs. Almost all small mobs have recieved new models and textures. Now their hitboxes (model boundaries) match the Java version. In addition small wolves, cats, and pigs have acquired unique sounds, rabbits have learned new movements, zombie horses no longer grow and cant be saddled, but their younger versions can now make sounds. In general everything is the same as in 26.10.21.
Crafting and useful tidbits:
In Minecraft Bedrock 26.0, name tags can now be crafted! The recipe is below. The classic mechanics have also been brought back - portals to the Nether can once again be lit with lava. Piglin spawn eggs are now listed in alphabetical order in their respective places. And many other tweaks, which you can definetly find out about in the full changelog below.
