As before, you live on a tiny island, but there are new islands around you. All the resources available to you at the beginning of the game are only what can be used to build generators and farms.
You will have to move forward reaching the neighboring islands, otherwise you will die on your small island. Build bridges and explore new islands, not only the loot chest but also the island's constituent blocks.
