Do not waste precious time on a detailed inspection, you have 10 seconds to find the lever, button or other object that is your salvation.
If you do not manage to find a way out then the deadly lava fills the entire room and you will burn. By tradition, the initial levels are more like training, the passage is fairly simple and you will understand what you need to do next.
