Animal behavior:

The main pride of update 3 is the detailed bird behavior. There are now six species of birds of paradise in the jungle. Males (for example, the Twelve-wired Bird of Paradise or the Blue Bird of Paradise) perform mating shows. They fluff up their bright feathers and perform unique dances. To see this, feed the bird a slice of watermelon. Females, watching this, decide whether to lay an egg.

Shoebill. This massive bird lives in swamps and not only swims very well but also makes very specific sounds. Tiny sunbirds were also added, which flock to flower feeders placed by the player.

Reptiles:

In Tropical Fauna Addon, reptiles are divided by movement type and danger level. Some lizards, such as Kuhl's flying geckos or dragons, use their skin folds to glide between trees, escaping predators.

But be careful, because the savanna in Tropical Fauna has become more dangerous due to Gila monsters. These lizards are venomous, and if you manage to tame a long-tailed grass lizard using a cricket, you will get a loyal and cute companion.

Misc + hunting:

Update 3 brought a lot of new items and cooking recipes into the game. Now hunting has a practical purpose.

  1. Snakes drop skin (which can be used to make paper), while piranhas and payaras drop sharp teeth and fangs.
  2. The player can cook frog legs, snake meat, or catfish. bananas, coconuts (which you can throw!), mangoes, and passion fruit were added. If you mix mango with a bowl, you get a refreshing puree.
  3. For base decoration, there are terrariums of different sizes, bird aviaries, mesh fences, and even branches (oak and jungle) where your pets can sit.

Birds and sky dwellers:

  • Birds of Paradise (6 species): Unique dance animations, breeding using watermelon.
  • Toco Toucan: Can be tamed with a slice of melon, breeds using mango.
  • Shoebill: A fearsome swamp resident, imitates gunshot-like sounds.
  • Royal Flycatcher: Shows off a bright fan-shaped crest on its head.
  • Hoatzin: A bird that can swim, breeds using kelp.

Amphibians and reptiles:

  • Amazon Milk Frog: Releases a toxic secretion when threatened.
  • Poison dart frogs: Bright but extremely poisonous frogs.
  • Geckos (day and night): Small, agile lizards that love sweet berries.
  • Pig-nosed turtle: Has a funny pig-like nose, lives in swamps.
  • Green vine snake: Thin and hard to notice, feeds on frogs.

Mammals and others:

  • Malayan colugo: The only mammal in the addon, capable of gliding.
  • Giant Amazonian snail: Crawls on land and is not an aquatic creature.
  • Butterflies (Periclaudes and others): Gather around special fruit feeders.

Plant life:

The addon features a huge variety of domestic and wild plants: aglaonema, alocasia (several species), monstera (including the rare "Albo" form), scindapsus, and various types of maranta. All of them help create the atmosphere of a real greenhouse in your home.
