When switching from Bedrock to Java, many people note that PvP feels completely different because the hits become sharper, the movements more readable, and the combat mechanics in general work differently, but Java PvP will bring back the old combat physics and do it neatly enough to make everything look great on Bedrock. How does combat change?
The add-on is based on familiar Java mechanics, which work differently in Bedrock 1.21. The weapon reload indicator tracks the rhythm of the attack, sprint strikes provide realistic knockback, and theres also Sweeping Edge.![]()

The web slows down exactly as much as you would expect; doors react with the correct delay; projectiles fly in a more linear trajectory. Additionally, there is a small set of convenient little things like these.

Settings:
The menu system is divided into three categories: personal, admin, and "Extra." In them, you can enable or disable individual elements of Java behavior or test new features.
Java Combat Addon by racingraftaar:
- Area Damage (Sweeping Edge) (swords strike an area, hitting all enemies within a certain radius of the primary target).
- Attack Cooldown (a swing timer; without it weapon damage will be minimal).
- Charge indicator (a visual bar on the screen showing readiness for the next powerful strike).
- Axe mechanics (axes deal more damage then swords but have a smaller area-of-effect radius).
- Active blocking (the ability to block with a shield by pressing the crouch button).
- Shield break (an axe strike disables the enemy's shield for 5 seconds as in the Java version).
- Dynamic health indicator (mob type and health bar that changes color when injured).
- Kill Streaks (a 10-level combo system (from Double to Godlike) with unique sounds and text).
- Hit visual effects (blood particles on normal hits and sparks (totem burst) on critical axe hits).
- Combat Statistics (by using a regular book while crouching you can open a panel showing the number of kills, accuracy and best streak).
- Interface Customization (by holding a tag while crouching you can bring up a menu to adjust the attack radius and damage).
- Weapon progression (the range and power of the circular swing directly depend on the material, ranging from wood to netherite).
- Knockback physics (realistic momentum that pushes back a crowd of enemies with a wide swing).
