The use of backpacks is based on new mechanisms introduced in one of the latest Minecraft PE 1.18 beta updates. There is no standalone interface, all items you want to put in your backpack can be moved to it via hotbar slots. Just tap on those that should be in your backpack, it's simple.

This Backpacks Addon follows a slightly different concept of storing things, or rather, instead of a separate interface, you get the simplest possible storage for 64 items.
