In this version, they behave very simply without being able to do any things. All you can do is make friends with them, but in any case, meeting another character in MCPE is always nice.

In the current version, all the characters are empty NPCs capable of wandering the world. They are neutral towards everyone and do not know how to fight at all. However, you can name them using nametags. Meeting them is visual contact for the moment and nothing more.
In general, the characters can be anywhere regardless of the biome, so it is not that hard to see one of them in the forest after starting the game.
