This is not a belated April Fools' joke but a real update that became the second game drop in 2025 for Minecraft Bedrock Edition 1.21. What to expect from 1.21.80.25 and should you update to it? Yes, this version brings a new friendly ghast with its several growth stages as well as vanilla shaders called Vibrant Visuals.
In Minecraft PE 1.21.80.25 you can tame a friendly ghast! A new craftable block, Dried Ghast has been added, which also spawns in the nether. This is a dried block that requires water to transform into a young ghast. Simply pour water on it to start it forming into a creature. The water feeds it and all you have to do is wait.
Then after the dried ghast has turned into a ghastling, it will fly around and continue to grow. Try feeding it snowballs to speed up its growth, make it rain, or just wait for the ghastling to grow to its final stage.
So, having reached the final stage of growth, the ghastling becomes a happy ghast - a huge flying mob in MCPE 1.21.80.25, neutral towards everyone around.
