You can to control the direction of the vehicle with the mouse and keyboard, as you more comfortable, I personally would prefer to control the ship use the keyboard.
Planes have larger size and thus need more space for takeoff. Better yet, build a runway or test the mod in the flat world. Some planes have the property land on the water, and most have a few places. Thus you will be able to fly on the same plane or helicopter with your friends!
